Coming and Going is made with 46 teenagers and their families from a mining town in Outback Australia. Ten times a year, I drive a bus to and from their homes to a small farming town 800km away. Accept for each other; they leave everything behind to access an education.
Across locations, seasons and years, we have spontaneously made images of their actions as they come and go from their homes. Their actions also merge to create a series of directional typologies. Guided by the unity of their actions, each typology is a visual of the powerful kinship they each walk within.
